Costa Rica tax law taxes capital gains but has its exemptions.  If you are not a developer and your business is not buying and selling land, the capital gain on selling the land is not taxable.  If you have an asset and your business is not related to buying and selling that kind of assets and you have not depreciated the asset as a deductible expense, the capital gain is not taxable

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our client is looking for high performing individuals who are success driven and interested in a career. The accounting specialist/professional position is a highly competitive role structured to strengthen accounting and finance competencies. You will gain experience managing General Ledger processes while also gaining exposure to Intercompany Accounting, Period End Close & Consolidation. 

Our client is a global business operation.

Reporting to the General Ledger Team Lead, the specialist will support Finance Organization and Operations team in accurate and timely creation and review of allocations, accruals, foreign exchange revaluation, GRIR controls, performing and reviewing reconciliation of several balance sheet accounts, period end close support, trend analysis, support process standardization projects, journal entries review and reporting support.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform tasks related to the General Ledger team within the Company Global Services Center, which serves over 74 legal entities and Corporate Headquarters operations

  • Participate in the execution of the following tasks:

o Foreign exchange rate revaluation, posting and reviewing.
o Provide data required by Tax COE needed for tax files
o Creation and posting of recurring entries
o Follow up of GRIR items for over 90 days and write off of purchase orders
o Calculation, review and posting of several accounting journal entries.
o Perform clearing of general ledger accounts.
o VAT accounts netting and clearing.
o Performing and reviewing reconciliation of several type of accounts.
o Serve as mentor for less experiences team members.
o Coordinate month end close activities .
o Responsible for accounting information reported.

o Perform balance sheet accounts trend analysis during month end close. 

EXPERIENCES FOR SUCCESS

To be successful in this role you will have / be:

  •  Previous experience in Accounting, using SAP platform.

  •  Strong analytical, diagnostic and problem solving skills.

  •  Ability to prioritize tasks, and manage his/her time efficiently.

  •  Ability to push creative thinking 

  •  Detail oriented with the ability to capture information in a clear, concise manner and can adapt

    information for various audiences.

  •  Proactive

ABOUT THE ROLE

The ITC Clerk, reports directly to the ITC Lead of Global Shared Services Center in support of its mission to leverage resources on a global scale through the use of shared services to reduce costs, maintain or increase customer service, and build new capabilities. Responsibilities include the delivery of Best In Class ITC processes in accordance with negotiated Service Level Agreements. 

     Credit Management – Manage all activities associated with credit application processing, and credit checking. Develop processes and procedures for evaluating customer financials and setting and changing credit lines/limits, as well as credit holds

     Deductions Settlement – Ensure customer deductions and discrepancies are properly handled and resolved

RESPONSIBILITIES

       Support the delivery of strong ITC Credit and Collections processesincluding credit management, invoice collection and deduction settlement.  

XPERIENCES FOR SUCCESS

·         Coordinate timely payment of invoices

·         Work with cash application to proactively resolve unapplied cash 

·         Identify trends and resolve issues causing late payments.

·         Support the analysis of customer deductions and unearned cash discounts.

This role provides support and training needed to develop a well-rounded accounting and finance skillset.

Reporting to the Costing & Inventory Team Lead, Costing & Inventory Specialist will support Finance Organization and Operations team in accurate and timely creation/reconciliation of standard costs, maintenance of STC records, Inventory and warehouse reconciliations, reports, period end close support and reporting support for cost of sales, variances and inventory balances.

RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Perform tasks related to the Costing and Inventory team within the Company, which serves over 30 business units 

·         Participate in the execution of the following tasks: 

o   STC reconciliations, troubleshoot and resolution.

o   Regional and global coordination of STC tasks and SOX checks.

o   Inventory and Warehouse reconciliation and confirmation.

o   Creation of Inventory Reports.

o   Cost Master Data creation and maintenance understanding the trading flows.

o   Balance Sheet Account reconciliation

o   Calculation, entry, review and posting of accounting journal entries.

o   Development and issuance of financial reports.

o   Financial data reporting.

o   Analyze monthly and YTD variances.

o   Support quarterly and yearly tasks 

o   Troubleshoot differences between systems 

o   Respond and support auditor’s requests.

o   Support implementation of new projects from costing/inventory perspective.

EXPERIENCES FOR SUCCESS

·         Previous experience in Cost Accounting Operations, using SAP platform.
